Eliminated from GNAC Tournament

CHESTNUT HILL, MA- The Saint Joseph College softball team dropped a 5-4 decision
to Emerson College on Friday in first game of the double elimination round of
the GNAC tournament. On Saturday the team was eliminated when they lost 5-3
to Simmons College. The Blue Jays ended the season with an impressive 25-17
record overall.
Santuccio and Sullivan Named 2nd Team All-GNAC in Lacrosse

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Saint Joseph College senior Rozz Sullivan (Simsbury, CT)
and junior Kaylee Santuccio (Vernon, CT) were named to the All-GNAC 2nd in Lacrosse.
Santuccio was second in the conference in both save percentage and saves per
game and was named the Goalkeeper of the Week once during the season. Sullivan
was in the top 15 in scoring in the GNAC. This is the first season that the
Great Northeast Athletic Conference has sponsored a league in Lacrosse, the
Blue Jays were 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the GNAC.
Softball Uses Late Rally to Advance in GNAC Playoffs

NEWTON, MA- Junior Monica Lynch (Ludlow, MA) hit a game tying homerun in the
top of the seventh inning and the Blue Jays added four runs in the eighth inning
to defeat fifth seeded Lasell College 5-2 in the first round of the GNAC softball
tournament. The Blue Jays will now advance to the double elimination round of
the tournament which will see them take on Emerson College on Friday at 4:00
p.m. at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, MA. The Blue Jays are 25-15 overall
on the season and have advanced to the second round of the GNAC tournament for
the second straight year.
Lacrosse Ends Successful Season with Tough Loss to Elms

CHICOPEE, MA- Elms College senior midfielder Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) netted
a game-high five goals, including a pair of key late goals to help spark the
Blazers to a hard-fought 12-9 win over Saint Joseph College in Monday night’s
non-conference women’s lacrosse game at Leary Field.
Elms College won its second straight game and improved to 4-8 overall. Saint Joseph College fell to 3-7.
With the Blazers holding a slim 10-7 lead midway through the second half, Childs tallied her collegiate career-high 34th and 35th goals of the year in a span of 4:40 to extend Elms College’s lead to 12-7.
Although senior attack Rozz Sullivan (Simsbury, CT) and sophomore attack Cait Witham (Prospect, CT) scored consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 12-9, the Blue Jays never threatened in the game’s final five minutes.
Saint Joseph College junior goalkeeper Kaylee Santuccio (Wethersfield, CT) and Elms College junior goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) were outstanding between the pipes, as both made several sensational stops.

saves, including 11 in the second half, while Santuccio stopped 12 shots
Softball Makes GNAC Playoffs, will Play Lasell

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Saint Joseph College softball team split a double header
against Daniel Webster on Sunday and clinched a spot in the Great Northeast
Athletic Conference playoffs for the second straight season. The Blue Jays finished
the season 23-15 overall and 15-11 in the GNAC. Saint Joseph College will be
seeded 8th and will travel to Lasell College to take on the sixth seeded Lazers
on Wednseday at 4:00 p.m. The first round of the tournament is single elimination
while the next phase becomes a double elimination round.
Softball Sweeps Newbury

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Reigning GNAC Player of the Week Michelle Lynch (Ludlow,
MA) continued her torrid pace going a combined 4-6 with four rbi's to lead Saint
Joseph College to 8-0, 8-0 double header sweep of Newbury College. First year
Melanie Bush (Bristol, CT) pitched a complete game shutout in the first game
giving up only two hits and striking out four. In game two first year Sara Dudley
(Dover, NH) also pitched a complete game two hitter while fanning seven. The
Blue Jays are 19-12 overall and 10-8 in the GNAC.
Lacrosse Falls on Senior Day

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Saint Joseph College lacrosse team was defeated by Westfield
State 18-2 on Senior Day at the Saint Joseph College Soccer/Lacrosse field.
First year Alexis Gianquinto (Hamden, CT) and junior captain Amelia De Dufour
(Woodbury, CT) scored for the Blue Jays. The goal by Gianquinto was her eighth
in two games and she was named to the GNAC Honor Roll for the week ending April
13th. The game marked the final home contest for seniors Megan Fuller, Rozz
Sullivan, Stephanie Secore and the first four year Lacrosse player in Saint
Joseph College history Angela Lore. The Blue Jays are 2-6 overall.
Lynch Named Player of the Week in Softball

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Saint Joseph College junior softball player Michelle Lynch
(Ludlow, MA) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player
of the Week for the period ending April 13th. Lynch hit .605 with one home run
and 16 rbi’s during that period. She also had a slugging percentage of
.842 and did not commit an error in the field.
Softball Splits with Suffolk

BOSTON, MA.-- Sophomore Valerie Liberatore’s (Chelsea, MA) two-run third
inning double proved to be the difference as Suffolk gained a split of a Great
Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader with Saint Joseph College with a
4-2 nightcap victory in games played at Puopolo Field, as the visiting Blue
Jays took the opener by an 8-6 margin in eight innings.
Sophomore Angela Cole (Plainville, MA) added a pair of RBI singles in the second game triumph for the host Rams (8-12, 7-5 Great Northeast), who collected 10 hits in the nightcap, including three off the bat of junior Ashley Gaboriault (Sutton, MA) and a pair from fellow junior Kellie Hurlock (East Lyme, CT). Senior Jenna Mourey (Rochester, NY) picked up her third victory of the season on the mound for Suffolk, allowing a pair of runs over the first 4 1/3 frames, while junior Jess Ferreira (Cambridge, MA) allowed two hits and fanned three over the final 2 2/3 innings of work to notch her first save. Juniors Michelle Lynch (Ludlow, MA) and Antoinette Marciano (South Windsor, CT) combined for five of the eight hits recorded by the visiting Blue Jays (10-9, 5-5 Great Northeast) in the nightcap setback while driving in a run each, as freshman Melanie Bush (Bristol, CT) allowed one earned run in taking the loss on the mound.
Saint Joseph College snapped a 1-1 third inning tie in the opener on a two-run double off the bat of junior Katie Gaudiosi (Southington, CT), and the Blue Jays added a single tally in the fourth on a passed ball to take a 4-1 cushion into the late innings. Suffolk rallied to force the extra frame by scoring three times with one out in the seventh, as RBI singles by Ferreira and junior Marie Trainor (Winthrop, MA.) cut the Rams’ deficit to one before Gaboriault plated the tying run on a sacrifice fly. Saint Joseph College scored three unearned runs in the eighth that sandwiched an RBI double by sophomore Jacqueline Peck (Uncasville, CT) in taking an 8-4 lead, but Suffolk closed back to within a pair in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by freshman Jessica Kehlenbach (Bethany, Conn.) and a Hurlock RBI single but could not get any closer. Freshman Sara Dudley (Dover, NH) went the distance in picking up the win on the mound in the first game for the Blue Jays and helped her own cause with two hits, as Gaudiosi finished with three RBI in the triumph for the visitors.
Dudley Selected Rookie of the Week in Softball

WEST HARTFORD, CT- First year softball player Sara Dudley (Dover, NH) was selected
as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the
period ending March 30th. Dudley batted .648 with 7 RBI and a slugging percentage
of 1.053. In the games she pitched, Dudley went 2-1, striking out 23, walking
one and pitching to a 2.92 ERA.
Santuccio Named GNAC Goalie of the Week in Lacrosse

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Saint Joseph College junior lacrosse goalkeeper Kaylee Santuccio
(Wethersfield, CT) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC)
Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending March 30th. During that period
Santuccio played in three games and made 49 saves while compiling a .533 save
percentage for the Blue Jays.
Softball Game Against Emmanuel Postponed

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The softball double header between Saint Joseph College and
Emmanuel College for today has been postponed due to the weather. No make up
date has been scheduled as of yet.
Weather Forces Schedule Changes

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Due to the inclimate weather in the Northeast several games
featuring Saint Joseph College teams have been changed. The softball team's
double header with Emmanuel College scheduled for today has been postponed and
will be played on Tuesday April 1st at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph College. The
softball team will now be hosting Saint Joseph College of Maine this Sunday
March 30th at 1:00 p.m. That game was originally scheduled as an away contest
for the Blue Jays.
The lacrosse team will be hosting Norwich University on Sunday March 30th at 11:00 a.m.
Lacrosse Wins Season Opener

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Seniors
Megan Fuller (Southington, CT) and Rozz Sullivan (Simsbury, CT) each scored
four goals as the Saint Joseph College Lacrosse team opened the season with
a 14-10 victory over Becker College. Sophomore Joanna White (Granby, MA) chipped
in with two goals and an assist. Goalkeeper Kaylee Santuccio (Vernon, CT) made
20 saves on the afternoon for the Blue Jays. Saint Joseph College is 1-0 overall.
Softball Wins Two over Bay Path

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Junior Antoinette Marciano (South Windsor, CT) singled in
the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead Saint Joseph College
to a 6-5 victory over Bay Path College in game one of a double header. Marciano
went 4-5 in the game while teammate Monica Lynch (Ludlow, MA) went 2-3 and drove
in two runs. First year pitcher Sara Dudley (Dover, NH) secured the win for
the Blue Jays by pitching all eight innings and striking out eleven.
In game two Dudley did the damage for the Blue Jays with her bat as she went 3-3 and drove in a run as Saint Joseph College won the night cap 6-4. First year pitcher Melanie Bush (Bristol, CT) scattered 10 hits and struck out six to get the win for the Blue Jays. Saint Joseph College is 5-4 overall.
Swimming Finishes 16th at New England Championships

DARTMOUTH, MA- The Saint Joseph College swim placed 16th at the annual New England
Championships held this year on the campus of UMASS Dartmouth. Top finishers
for the Blue Jays featured junior Anne Weeks (Mystic, CT) placing 10th in the
200 Breaststroke, first year Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA) finished
12th in the 100 Individual Medley and sophomore Kristine Ellegard (Rocky Hill,
CT) ranked 18th in the 50 Backstroke. The relay team of Ellegard, Weeks, Wheeler
and senior Amy Olson (South Boston, MA) turned in a 15th place finish in the
400 Freestyle.

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Saint Joseph College swim team will take part in the
New England Championships held on the campus of UMASS Darmouth. Eight members
of the team; Annie Weeks, Sarah Wheeler, Amy Olson, Kristine Ellegard, Carrie
Hess, Krystina Gilhuly, Sarah Hawkes and Caitlin Brault all had times in their
events during the season that qualfied them to take place in the Championship.
Results will be posted upon completion of the Championship.

Nashua, NH- The River Raiders held Saint Joseph College to just 15 first half
points on 18% shooting from the field and went on to a 56-39 Great Northeast
Athletic Conference victory. The Raiders continued with their aggressive defense
in the second half as Saint Joseph College was only able to manage 22% shooting
from the floor. Rivier dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Blue Jays 51-37,
although the visitors held a 13-11 advantage in offensive rebounds.

Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT) paced the Blue Jays with 11 points while junior
Charlotte Kayij (Hartford, CT) chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
Saint Joseph College is 4-16 overall.
Basketball Back on Winning Track

BROOKLINE, MA- The Saint Joseph College Blue Jays overpowered the Newbury College
Nighthawks in the final minutes of the game to steal the win 64-60 tonight in
Brookline, MA. Marquia Davis (Bloomfield, CT) and Charlotte Kayij (Hartford,
CT) lead the Blue Jays to victory, each providing a double-double Saint Joseph
College with 29 points and 32 rebounds between them.
The Nighthawks held a decent lead for the majority of the game, including a 9 point lead at the half. Despite a valiant effort by Nighthawk Katelyn Mark (Quincy, MA/ North Quincy) with a game high 26 points and 13 boards, Newbury could not hold on for the win. Jessica Lightfoot (Sewell, NJ/Clearview Regional) also chipped in 14 points respectfully in the loss. Saint Joseph College improves to 4-14 on the season while Newbury falls to 2-17.
Basketball's Strong Effort Comes Up Short

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Lauren Hickey scored 26 points including 6-9 from the three
point line to lead Mount Ida College to a 70-62 victory over host Saint Joseph
College before a near capacity crowd at the O’Connell Athletic Center.
The Blue Jays pulled to 64-61 with 1:05 left in the game but Mount Ida hit all
six of their free throws in the final minute to secure the win.
Junior Charlotte Kayij (Hartford, CT) turned in a double- double performance with 16 points and 13 rebounds. First year Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT) scored 17 points while senior tri-captain Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT) chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Mount Ida received 16 points and 13 rebounds from Cherie Parisi and 14 points and seven boards from Elise McClear.

Westfield State Sinks Swimming

WESTFIELD, MA-The Westfield State women’s swimming and diving team improved
its record to 6-2 with a 142-103 victory over Saint Joseph College, Conn., on
Thursday, Jan. 31.
Senior Lindsay Hryniewich was a double winner for the Owls, placing first in the 100 backstroke and the 200 yard individual medley. She also finished second in the 100 butterfly.
Junior Anne Weeks (Mystic, CT) and first year Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA), were double winners for the Blue Jays.
Ciarcia Named to GNAC Honor Roll in Basketball

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Saint Joseph College senior Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT)
was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honor roll in basketball
for the week ending January 30, 2008. During that period, Ciarcia a tri-captain
on the team averaged 18.3 ppg and 6 rpg including a 21 point and nine rebound
performance against Daniel Webster and a 21 point, five rebound outing against
conference leader Emmanuel. Ciarcia is the second leading scorer on the team
this season and second in the GNAC in minutes played averaging over 37 mins
played per contest.

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Saint Joseph College basketball team went into the locker
room at halftime trailing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's top team
Emmanuel College by 11, 36-25 but only managed seven field goals in the second
half as they were defeated 75-45 in a conference battle held at the O'Connell
Athletic Center. Senior tri-captain Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT) continued
her fine string of performances for the Blue Jays as she hit for a game high
21 points to go with five rebounds. The Saint had balanced scoring a play throughout
the contest and received an 18 point and four rebound outing from first year
Kristin LeBel (Tolland, CT). Saint Joseph College's Illaria Schiano (Wallingford,
CT) also chipped in with 17 points and five boards. Emmanuel notched 16 steals
and caused a total of 25 turnovers by the Blue Jays.
Emmanuel is 12-5 on the season while Saint Joseph College is 3-12.

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Saint Joseph College swim team was defeated by Western
New England College 119.5-113.5 in a meet held in the Bruyette Natatorium on
the campus of Saint Joseph College. First year Melanie Bush (Bristol, CT) captured
the 50 (29.17) and 100 yard (1:04.65) freestyles while teammate and sophomore
Kristine Ellegard (Rocky Hill, CT) won the 50 yard backstroke (33.00)and the
400 yard (5:56.62) individual medley.
Blue Jays Lose Heartbreaker to Daniel Webster

WEST HARTFORD, CT- Up by eight with less than three minutes left the Saint Joseph
College basketball team could not hang on and were defeated by Daniel Webster
College 41-40 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) basketball game
at the O'Connell Athletic Center on the campus of Saint Joseph College.
Erin Mosely paced Daniel Webster with 12 points but none bigger than when she hit the winning basket with 16 seconds left. The Blue Jays started the game down 5-0 but went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes, 11 of those points scored by senior tri-captain Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT). The Eagles went seven minutes without a point and Saint Joseph College took a 27-12 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Blue Jays built the lead to 16 early in the second half but then went cold from the field as they shot 21% (5-24) in the half. By contrast Daniel Webster hit 13 field goals in the second stanza and shot 35% (13-37).
Ciarcia was the only double figure scorer for the Blue Jays as she had 21 points (19 in the first half) to go along with nine rebounds and three steals. Charlotte Kayij (Hartford, CT) pulled down a team high 11 boards. Brianna DeSeignora also had a 11 rebounds for the Eagles.
The Blue Jays fall to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in the GNAC. Daniel Webster improves to 9-5 overall and 2-2 in the GNAC.
Swimming Falls to Plymouth State
WEST HARTFORD, CT– Five individuals won two events apiece Saturday afternoon as the Plymouth State University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Saint Joseph College, 140-112, at the Bruyette Natatorium.
The Panthers won 13 of the 16 events in the meet, including both relay races. Both teams now have 2-5 dual meet records on the season.
Senior Christina DiGiacomo (Meriden, Conn.), junior Kaitlyn Milligan (Forestdale, MA) and sophomore Caitlin Little (Scituate, Mass.) led the Panthers, each winning two individual events and swimming on both winning relays teams. Senior Kate Marrie (Swampscott, Mass.) and sophomore Chaz Sweeney (Methuen, Mass.) were also double-winners for PSU.
Leading the way for the Blue Jays was first year Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA), who took the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.64) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:09.77), and junior Anne Weeks (Mystic, CT), who captured the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.03).
Saint Joseph College will be back in action on the 25th when they take Western New England College at 7:00 p.m. in the Bruyette Natatorium.
Norwich Drops Saint Joseph College Basketball

WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Norwich University basketball defeated Saint Joseph College
76-48 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference match up at the O’Connell
Athletic Center on the campus of Saint Joseph College. The Cadets shot an efficient
54% (30-56) from the field while holding the Blue Jays to only 24% (12-51).
Jess Jaggars paced the Cadets with a team high 17 points and eight rebounds. Teammate Christine Daniels chipped in with 15 points and four boards. Saint Joseph College received a game high 21 points from first year Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT) and junior Charlotte Kayij (Hartford, CT) had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Senior tri-captain Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT) scored 15 points in the losing effort.
Norwich University took a 31-17 lead into the locker room at halftime and shot a sizzling 57% in the second half to pull away from Saint Joseph College.
The Cadets
improve to 3-10 on the season while the Blue Jays fall to 2-8.
Trinity Tops Saint Joseph College Basketball

Hartford, CT - Sophomore forward Christine Card (Waterbury, CT) scored 14 points
and first-year guard Kristen Fahey (Cumberland, RI) grabbed 10 rebounds and
dished out six assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 68-29 victory
over the injury riddles Saint Joseph College Blue Jays this evening at Ray Oosting
Gymnasium.
First-year center Molly McGlynn (Sleepy Hollow, NY) had six points, nine rebounds and three blocks and sophomore forward Kristen Liska (Falmouth, MA) had six points, nine rebounds, and three assists for the Bantams who went up 31-5 in the first half and left for the locker room at the midway point with 44-10 advantage.
The Blue Jay offense was held to just 22 percent shooting from the floor in the game, while the Bantams hit 37 percent of their 81 attempts. Senior guard Amanda Ciarcia (Newington, CT) hit four three-pointers for 12 points to lead Saint Joseph College, while junior forward Gina Morales (Newington, CT) netted seven points and added eight rebounds.
The Bantams improve to 8-2
with the win and the Blue Jays drop to 2-8.
Swimming Turns In Solid Performance in Loss to Simmons

BOSTON, MA- The Saint Joseph College swim team turned in solid times and performances
in a 126-84 loss to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) champion Simmons
College. The relay team of junior Anne Weeks (Mystic, CT) sophomore Kristine
Ellegard (Rocky Hill, CT), first year Melanie Bush (Bristol, CT) and first year
Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA) finished first in the 200 Medley and
the 200 Freestyle relays. The Blue Jays won the Medley relay in a time of 2:05.18.
Weeks won the 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:14.45 while Wheeler and Ellegard
finished first and second respectively in the 100 Individual Medley. Saint Joseph
College is now off for the semester break and will be back in action in early
January when they take their annual trip to Florida for winter training.

NEW LONDON, CT--The Connecticut College women’s basketball team (7-2)
rolled to a 72-40 victory against visiting Saint Joseph College (2-6) in a game
played at Luce Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. Senior Katy Serafin (Carmel, N.Y.)
posted the 26th double double of her career with a game-high 18 points and 13
rebounds for the hosts. Lindsay Michel (West Haven, CT) chipped in with 13 points,
eight rebounds, six assists and two steals for the Camels. Amy Towne (Stamford,
CT) added 11 points and seven rebounds and Cindy Roseen (Wolfeboro, N.H.) contributed
10 points and eight boards, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for Connecticut
College.
Senior Amanda Ciarcia (Newington,
CT) netted 10 points and was 4-for-5 from the foul line, leading the Blue Jays
offensively. Ilaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT) contributed eight points, six
rebounds and four steals, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe
for Saint Joseph College.

Chicopee, MA- Elms College sophomore forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) recorded
a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Blazers rallied from a
four-point halftime deficit to post a convincing 66-49 win over Saint Joseph
College in Thursday night’s non-conference women’s basketball game
at the Maguire Center.
Elms College won its second straight game to improve to 3-4 overall, while Saint Joseph College lost its second game in as many nights to fall to 2-5.The Blazers trailed 32-28 at intermission before erupting for a 29-8 run over the first 12:57 of the second half to put the game out of reach.
Elms College outscored Saint Joseph College 38-18 in the paint and limited the Blue Jays to just 19.4-percent shooting (6 of 31) in the second half.
Firtst year guard Illaria
Schiano (Wallingford, CT) continued her strong play as she poured in a game-high
20 points on 7 of 18 shooting to register her second 20-plus point outing in
as many nights. She finished with 24 points in Saint Joseph College's loss at
Mitchell College on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays take to the road again on
Saturday when they travel to New London, CT to tangle with Connecticut College.

New London, CT- Mitchell College was victorious Wednesday night against Saint
Joseph College, 69-49, at the Yarnall Athletic Center. Mitchell is now 1-5 on
the season. Saint Joseph College is now 2-4 with the loss.
Leading the way for the Pequots were two double-doubles from Junior Julie Graham (Waterbury, CT) and Sophomore Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, CT). Graham tallied a team-high 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Iglesias chipped in 13 points and handed out 10 assists. Sophomore Miah Manning (Putnam, CT) and Freshman Melanie Miela (Lebanon, CT) each had 10 points in the victory.
The Blue Jays were paced by a career and game high 24 points from first year guard Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT). Junior forward Gina Morales (Newington, CT) had a game-high 12 rebounds. The Blue Jays are back in action this evening as they travel to Chicopee, MA to take on Elms College
Schiano Named GNAC Rookie of the Week in Basketball

West Hartford, CT- First year basketball player Illaria Schiano (Wallingford,
CT) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week
for the period ending December 2nd. During that week Schiano averaged 17.5 points
per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 3 assists. Included in there was a career
high 19 point performance against Hamilton College. On the season Schiano is
averaging just over 15 points per game.
Swimming Finishes Fourth at GNAC Championships

Boston, MA- The Saint Joseph College swim team finshed fourth at the Great Northeast
Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships held on the campus of Simmons College.
Junior Anne Weeks (Mystic, CT) took third place in the 50 Breast, fifth in the
200 Breast, and helped the relay team of Natatorium, first year Melanie Bush
(Bristol, CT) and first year Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA) finish an
impressive second in the 200 Medley relay.
Ellegard placed fourth in the 50 Back and fifth in the 100 Back. Bush took sixth in the 200 Free and seventh in the 100 Free. Wheeler came in third place in the 50 Butterfly. Senior Amy Olson (South Boston, MA) had a strong meet for the Blue Jays as she was third in the 1650 Freestyle and fifth in the 200 Butterfly.

Hamilton Basketball Tops Saint Joseph College

CLINTON, NY -- Pumla Sathula '08 recorded a double-double with 13 points and
a game-high 11 rebounds to help lead Hamilton College to a 58-38 non-league
women's basketball win against visiting Saint Joseph College (Conn.) at Scott
Field House on Dec. 1. First year Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT) made 8 of
10 free throw attempts and led Saint Joseph College with a game-high 19 points.
Leanna Pratt (Watertown, CT) provided some defensive pressure with a game-high
five steals. Gina Morales (Newington, CT) grabbed six rebounds for the Blue
Jays.
Hamilton (3-1
overall) scored the first four points and never trailed. However, the score
was tied three times in the first half, including 17-17 with 7:07 left. The
Continentals ended the half on a 10-3 run for a 27-20 lead at the break. Hamilton
put the Blue Jays away with a 13-2 run to start the second half for a 40-22
advantage with 12:30 remaining. Saint Joseph College is 2-3 overall and will
play again on the 5th when they visit New London to take on Mitchell College.
