Allard Named All-Conference Second-Team

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., October 27, 2008 – Saint Joseph College senior Elyse Allard (Plainfield, Conn.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Second-Team for women’s tennis as announced by the league this past Friday.

Allard, a senior-captain, for the Blue Jays went 10-5 on the year including an impressive 5-2 record in conference play. She began the year with a 5-0 record against conference opponents, bouncing between the No. 4 and No. 6 singles position for the Blue Jays.

As a team, the Blue Jays posted a 4-12 record on the year including a 2-5 slate in conference play. The season came to an end on Oct. 23 as SJC was bounced from the GNAC Tournament by Johnson & Wales.
